Brief Answer:
smell testing to different aromas, ct scan of para

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I had gone through your question and understand your concerns.

With this presentation in my clinic. I would like to ask you few more details.

Since when are you having decreased sensitivity of smell? Is it associated with nasal obstruction or head-ache? Is there any past history of surgery or head injury?

Kindly get back to me with details.

It could be due to these possibilities-

1. Allergic rhinitis with nasal polyp

2. Chronic sinusitis due to deviated nasal septum or fungal infection.

3. Medications (decongestants).

4. Brain related- head injury, surgical insults.

Smell testing with different aromas. Diagnostic nasal endoscopy (to rule out sinusitis). ct scan para nasal sinuses for polyp (common in allergic rhinitis individuals) and deviated nasal septum.

if you have additional questions, then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions.

Wishing you good health.

yes exactly , I have decreased sensitivity of smell .

I never had any brain/head injury. I feel its something nasal obstruction perhaps. I always have slight dry cough.
I am not going with any medications presently.
