What Causes Positive Drug Test For Marijuana Even When Not Taken Any?
Question: Hi, My name is XXXXXXX XXXXXXX YYYY@YYYY , I'm not ashamed of identity. I take morphine sulfate regularly for pain associated from a severe accident that happened in 1996. I fell from a roof and broke my back. Now I have metal braces like you would not believe all along my spine. My doctor prescribed this years ago with fentanyl patches every two days. Now I'm in another situation that requires an alcohol treatment program with U As at random. I don't mind except two weeks ago one showed up positive for Pot or THC. They say this is not possible---- I have never smoked pot in my life-- What now?

Yes I still take fentanyl 100 mcg/hr every 48 hours and morphine sulfate 15g
As needed for pain.
I received a DUII a year ago and am in a drug treatment co. For alcohol and drugs.
At the very last DAY and about a dozen random UA tests ok the last one came out positive for THC.
How is this.possible when I have never smoked pot in my life????
Yes my doctor prescribed everything and am seeing him today.

If you have never consumed pot, this might be a testing error. You can ask for a repeat test.
And also, the de-addiction management for pot and alcohol are different. I don't think there is any need to go for a complete deaddiction program again.
But the first thing would be to go for a repeat test for THC. Since you have never consumed, it should not test positive.
