Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for your query.
1. You have a Post Nasal Drip (PND) that mostly originates in the nose and sinuses.
2. Request your physician to prescribe an anti-allergic mucolytic (such as Relent OD once a day). Be aware that this medication may cause drowsiness and you should avoid driving when taking this medication. Other non-sedating medications are also available. A steroid nasal spray and regular steam inhalation will help. anti-reflux medication may be added if you have acid reflux which adds to the choking feeling.
3. Get a videolaryngoscopy done and a plain Sinus CT Scan, especially if the above treatment is not very effective.
4. Kindly let me know the results of your medication and further investigations. This will help in suggesting further treatment.
I hope that I have answered your query. If you have any further questions, I will be available to answer them.
Regards.
