What Causes Postural Syncope?
Question: for years ive been passing out when I choke,cough laugh too hard.be checked out at 3 fine hospitols eegs ekgs stress tested no one can find anything wrong with me.but as I age it's getting very worry some and i'm scared been in severalcat scans no ansewers.please help me,i don't want to die.

This is Dr Sameer, cardiologist.
Passing out (syncope) has a lot of causes. In elderly it could be a heart block. In young or middle age could be neurogenic syncope (loss of consciousness with change in position).
Other very important cause considering your situation is Vasovagal Syncope. During excessive stress, coughing can lead to stimulation of a nervein our body called vagus nerve leading to loss of consciousness. This is temporary & patients gain consciousness after some time. We generally make him/her lye down & we elevate his legs which increase the venous return to heart & thus brain & patient gain consciousness. It is important for such patients to be adequately hydrated.
For causes which i said earlier, I'll recommend youfor a holter test(which is 24hr mmonitoring of ECG) & Tilt test.
So the gist is be hydrated.
