Question :
I only feel good after taking strong antibiotics. I feel good for 1 or 2 months and start to feel bad again: run down, lots of head pressure , get colds easily, hard to concentrate, some flu like symptoms. Can't ever exercise as I feel wiped out afterwards and can't concentrate. Have bad seasonal allergies. Take about 4 courses of antibiotics per year for past 6 years. The only way I feel somewhat ok is taking magnesium, b vitamins, fermented food, probiotics and fish oil. Took a lymes test came back negative but understand false negative very common. Also experiencing balance issues and some anxiety.

Brief Answer:
Viral infections usually have an allergic component associated

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I have gone carefully through your query and understand your concerns. Let me mention that the flu like symptoms are usually due to viral cause. Antibiotics are ineffective against viruses. Irrespective of treatment it takes 5-7 days for such an infection. By taking antibiotics you are simply passing the undeserving credit to the antibiotic and the recovery aka feeling good have been there in the same period even if you had not taken the antibiotic. Whether you wish to keep taking the antibiotics meaninglessly is your choice. Testing will not help as viral infections do not provide conclusive changes in blood tests.

You may benefit from taking Montair LC (monteleukast+levocetirizine, prescription medicine) once daily for a few days during such occasions.

Some simple anxiolytics can help you evade your anxiety. Regular exercise, yoga and meditation also helps.

Let me know if I could help further.

Regards
