Question : 4 year old son had low grade fever before bed- gave him children's Advil. Now he's sweating profusely, has cold cheeks and temp is 96.6!

I understand your concerns but don't worry. Self limiting viral illness is the main cause of fever in this age group. It needs just symptomatic treatment with Advil or paracetamol if temperature is more than 100 degrees fahrenheit.

Sweating is not to be worried for. It's a protective effect of body to relieve high temperature. Just offer him regular feeds and fluids to keep him well hydrated.

Low temperature if persistent will improve by warm clothes.

These illnesses usually improve in few days.
