What Causes Progressive Electrical Jolts In Buttocks Radiating Through Legs?

default
Posted on Sat, 3 Oct 2015
Question: I have been seeing a chiropractor for several years now, but the sudden electrical like jolts through both mt buttocks and down my legs is getting more pronounced. At times it will buckle one or both legs ( began on my right, and recently is now effecting both sides!). Should I have an MRI? Back problems run in my family.

Brief Answer:
You need MRI

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have studied your case and I think you might be having disc herniation with spinal cord compression. This is causing pain with rediculopathy. I would recommend you to get MRI of the spine to confirm the diagnosis.
On the basis of location and extent of disc herniation we can plan further management, For example if there is only disc protrusion then you will be better with rest and physiotherapy.
If it is more then fifty percent then it is called extrusion and it can be treated with surgery.
I hope this answer will be useful for you.Let me know if there is any other followup questions.
thanks
