Question : Every time I take a primoult n, the bleeding lasts up to 1 month.. I took only one tablet. After the day I took the tablet, the bleeding started. Initially it was less bleeding, by the time the next month period would occur, i'm seeing huge blood clots for about a week and then the bleeding stopped. This happened twice to me in duration of six months, each time only one tablet.. From the next month onwards the cycle is normal. Please let me know if I should consult doctor.

Brief Answer:
No need to consult a doctor

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for your query.

I have read you query and I understand your concerns about excessive bleeding after primolut N.

Following is my reply:

1) This problem is because your body has adequate amount of estrogen and progesterone hormones in the body and the primolut you are taking are not required and are excessive.

2) Next time onwards please avoid taking any hormones and wait for periods to occur naturally.

3) This is not a serious problem and there is no need to see a doctor.

4) If such bleeding recurs, you can see your doctor to get an ultrasound scan.

I hope I answered you query and addressed your concerns.

Let me know if you wish to ask any further questions. I will be glad to help you.

Regards,
Dr. Soumya

Brief Answer:
Not to worry if no bleeding at present

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Bleeding for more than one month is not a good development. But if it has happened only this time and stopped now, you dont need to worry about it. You can ignore if there is no bleeding or clots now.

You see a doctor if bleeding persists now or if it recurs again.

I hope your doubt is cleared now.
