What Causes Pus In Urine?

default
Posted on Fri, 29 Jan 2016
Question: Yes, St Clair just cut off my bladder to normal operation; to a opening out of my chest. They were looking into prostrate infections; in stead of finding a bladder full of 'pee', it was infected with 'puss'. I am very worried about my current posision = not hearing what the plan is from my current doctor.

Brief Answer:
Bladder cancer

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for your query. I can understand your concerns.

You are having possibly invasive bladder cancer.and have undergone radical cystectomy which involves the removal of the bladder, prostate, and pelvic lymph nodes. A total urethrectomy also is performed if the urethral margin is positive.

After cystectomy, the urine is diverted using segments of bowel. The most commonly performed diversion is the ileal conduit. A small segment of ileum is taken out of continuity with the GI tract while maintaining its mesenteric blood supply. The ureters are anastomosed to one end of the conduit and the other end is brought out to the abdominal wall /chest wall as a stoma. The urine continuously collects in an external collection device worn over the stoma.

Kindly give the details of the operative procedure you have undergone and the type of bladder cancer (histo-pathiolgical diagnosis must be available by now).
