I would like to know some more clinical details so that I can answer this well-
1)Does the pain increases on walking? Yes. Very sharp under my kneecap. Ranges from feeling like something sharp pressing up through the kneecap to a cut or scrape on top of the knee. It also wakes me up at night while lying down.
2)Does it increases with coughing or straining? No
3)Do you have tingling or numbness in limbs? No
4)Any difficulty in passing urine or stool?Bladder or bowel issues? No
5)Do you have any past medical or disease history? Nothing

Hello Dr Panwar. My answers are above. I have seen an orthopedic Dr who put me on a steroid pack. That has helped the most so far. I've had some people tell me I should be seeing a neurologist. I've finished the steroid pack and still have issues in the arthritic knee. I just want to be sure I'm taking the correct course of action to fix it. Not interested in masking it with pain meds. Is there anymore other than steroids that can be done or do I just have to wait it out?

Doesn't appear to be neurological.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for being in follow-up and providing further details.

In view of the clinical details and your answers to the leading questions which I have asked, it appears convincing that your symptoms are non-neurological.Instead,they should be managed by an orthopedic surgeon.Regarding further course of action,I suggest you to please consult back to your orthopedic specialist.

Hope that I have answered your query. If you have any further questions,I shall be glad to answer else please close the thread, rate it and write a review.
