Question : My husband who is 73 with Parkinson's Disease and heart disease has a very severe pain in his neck radiating down to his left shoulder. He also had chest pain in his upper right chest several times early this AM. Trying to determine if we need to get to the ER.

The pain in the neck radiating to the left shoulder with no sweating, palpitation and shortness of breath is likely to be due to a muscular pain. You can ask him to avoid using a pillow, do a hot compress and apply local analgesic gel in the area. If the pain is relieved then give him a mild pain killers additionally. In case the pain is increasing then do attend an ER for proper prescription medicines.
