Question: Hello,

I recently started working out 5 to 6 times and this week I noticed a raised bright red rash in between my butt checks. I assumed fungus so have been using antifungal cream but it doesn't seem to be getting better

Brief Answer:
oral and topical antifungals

Detailed Answer:
Hello. Welcome to Healthcaremagic.com. I have read your query. I understand your concern.
As per details, the most likely possibility for your symptoms is fungal infection of skin only. In such cases, I prefer to advise oral antifungals like fluconazole and terbinafine / itraconazole to my patients. Alongwith topical antifungals like clotrimazole cream / miconazole cream is also advised.
You should keep the area clean and dry.
Prefer to wear loose cotton clothes. Avoid sweating. Get your blood sugar levels done.
It may take 6-8 weejs for complete cure with medications.
Visit your doctor so that he can examine you and give you prescription. You can share my opinion with him. I hope it helps. Take care.
