What Causes Random Rashes And Hives On The Body?

default
Posted on Mon, 12 Jan 2015
Question: Hi I wrote a few times before but have been having new symptoms show up. For the past few months I have been having an on going rash/hives on various parts of my body. The rash appears at different times on my body. At first it was extremely itchy but it has subsided and I will just have a few bumps here and there. I have also been having extremely chapped lips that are red in color and burn. I've noticed circulatory problems with my hands. My hands have been very dry and cold, when they are not cold they tend to feel hot and swollen. My skin has been very easily indented with anything that presses against it and my hands get pruney easily after showering. As a side note, I do suffer from bulimia and am not sure that this could be the problem. I am worried that it is something more serious. Any ideas of what this could be would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! I have attached pictures below.

Brief Answer:
Urticaria

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thanks for the query

Thanks for attaching the photos, I have seen them. The lesions look like Urticaria. Here is what you should do

1. Local application Steroidal ointment once a d ay will help subside the lesion, spare the lips and the mucosa while applying
2. Tab Levocetrizine is an antihistaminic which should be taken twice daily after food
3. Avoid exposure to sunlight, avoid sea food and other food items you might be allergic.

I very close resemblance to your lesion could be vasculitis or lupus. I strongly recommend you to get a ANCA-P, ANCA-C and ANA test done to rule these things out. I would also like you to get a eosinophil count done.

I hope I was of help, if you have any further queries please get back to me
