Question : My husband, who is 53, started getting a rash yesterday and what looks like an insect bite on his chest. This morning the rash covers his entire body and the whites of his eyes are yellow. He also has been complaining of body aches and a headache behind his eyes in the days prior. We gave him an allergy pill and advil but so far no help.

I have read your question and understand your concerns.

Your husband should be evaluated in no time for probable infection ( most likely a viral one ).

Since eye whites are yellow ( jaundice ), liver could have been involved too, so there is need for viral infection panels (including viral hepatitis A,B,C,D,) immune system status and liver function tests as well.

Rash is probably caused by allergic reaction against the infection organism or its products.

These issues should be discussed with your husband's primary care Doctor.
