What Causes Rash On Inner Upper Thigh?

Question : Hi. I got a small rash on my inner, upper thigh after being out on the lake all day several weeks ago. It looked like a typical "shaving rash." It has not gotten better and has, in fact, seemed to extend further down my thigh. The rash does not itch, burn, hurt, or any other symptoms. It consists of small bumps which are slightly raised and reddened, and most are around a hair follicle, though not all. I have stopped shaving the area. I have also tried vitamin K cream, and Gold Bond lotion. I have not had sex with anyone other than my boyfriend of two years, in over three years. Any suggestions?

Hi there,

First, I would appreciate to have a picture of the small rash you got on your inner, upper thigh.

From what you are describing, it might be infected hair follicles. So, vit.K cream and Gold Bond lotion won't help much.

I advise to:
- wash the area with warm water and soap
- let it dry with a clean towel
- apply iodine solution (you can find as OTC)
- then, apply antibiotic cream (gentamycin cream, can also find as OTC)
- cover with medicated bandage.
