Question: I have lower back pain and have tried Chiropractic, massage, ibuprofen ,topical pain creams with no relief for a week. I have concluded that a back doctor is in order but can't get an appt till Monday . Someone gave me 2 Watson 3202. I am not familiar with narcotic pain pills. I'm afraid of addiction and I am allergic to penicillin , and sulfa drugs. I get a rash from them. I need something for pain now an need to know what these Watson 3202 is and if it will hurt me since I took 2 strong aleve that a massage therapist gave me tonight. I am in more pain now than before she worked on me. Please advise. Thank you , XXXXXXX

Brief Answer:
You can take Watson 3202

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I have studied your case. Watson 3202 is a safe drug with no major side effect. Only problem is that because it is narcotic so should not be taken for long time. I would recommend you to follow these steps.
1.You can take watson 3202 one daily.
2.Also use hot water fomentation and volitran ointment.
3.If still pain continue than you should take your doctor's opinion.
4.Do not take more than one tablet in a day. DO not take it more than five days. Ultracet or Brufen is safer alternative.
I hope this answer will be helpful for you. Let me know if there is any other followup questions.
thanks

How would I get prescription without Dr visit? Call my primary? Is volitran ointment prescription? What is hot water fomentation? Hot water bag? I have heating pad on now. It feels good. I was on ice earlier and was still in spasam after an hour
Should I have X-ray of my back to rule out anything?

Thank you for your reply

Brief Answer:
Heat fomentation is moist heat

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Heating pad is dry heat. You use gentle rub the back with warm water over back with help of cloths or shower. This is what is done in hot formentation. It is better than dry heat.

You can get X ray of the spine done. But many a times it is not very useful though. If I were your treating doctor, I would order for a MRI of the spine as it is most informative. And yes, you should see a doctor in order to get the tests.

Ibuprofen is over the counter. You can consider taking it twice a day for awhile and see if you feel better. Else an opioid containing preparation may be needed.

Hope this answered all your question.

Thanks
