default
Posted on Mon, 11 Sep 2017
Question: Rash on my forearms comes and goes each day. Usually is visable in the morning and then i take clariton and few hours later gone! Been happening for a few weeks. Some mornings there is no rash. I have spoke with a doctor on here prior and he mentioned the clariton. Any other options would be helpful. I just want it to go away. It sometimes appears on my thighs but goes away as well.

Brief Answer:
Urticaria, take antihistaminic, lab tests if required

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for being at HealthcareMagic
I have gone through your complaints as well as reviewed the attached photograph.
It looks like urticaria which is an allergic reaction.
It has many causes like infection, drugs, thyroid dysfunction, food allergies and in one third of cases occurs without any cause.
I would recommend you to take antihistaminic like tablet Chlorpheniramine maleate 4 mg once daily at bedtime for 2 weeks.
If the rash still persists consult a doctor and go for certain lab tests to find out the cause of urticaria.
You need to undergo complete blood count, absolute eosinophil count, urinalysis, stool examination for ova and cysts, thyroid function tests and serum IgE levels.
