Question : Hello, I have a recent stomach issue. It is painful at all times for the past 2 weeks and the surrounding organs also hurt with a burning type pain off and on. Most days I am able to eat normal and eating actually helps ease the pain. There are also times where it is hard to eat and it irritates the condition. I am scared of course of stomach cancer. I do take 40 mg of omeprozole daily

Brief Answer:
Upper GI Endoscopy will be most helpful.

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query and an elucidate history.
Read the history carefully and understood your concerns.
Since your have already got the CT scan of the abdomen, it rules out any large cancer of the stomach as the stomach and the search for lymph nodes is negative.
You are already taking Omeprazole.
The best thing is to get an upper GI Endoscopy to see if small lesions like an ulcer is present or not and also tell about esophagus, full stomach and the first part of duodenum.

I hope this answer helps you, please feel free to ask for further relevant queries if you feel that there is a gap of communication.

Thank you - I do have an appointment with a GI but I cant get in until September 7th. I forgot to mention that I did have an upper scope done in 2013 and no polyps were found but I did have a very small ulcer and also a very tiny hiatel hernia that he deemed too small to worry about. Like I said any type of cancer is my biggest fear and I read that a CT scan can miss some of the stomach ones. Please let me know if this is true. I do have 1 other question - I am an avid runner and have since stopped running since this started a few weeks ago. DO you fel it would be ok to run. Thank you

Brief Answer:
May please continue running if not causing symptoms

Detailed Answer:
Yes, CT scan can miss small lesions. Hence the need of upper GI endoscopy and biopsy.
Certainly yes, please carry on running, unless it is causing any distress or symptoms.
Please give feedback of the reports of endoscopy and further progress.
