Brief Answer:
Most likely allergic.

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Thank you for asking HCM

I have gone through your query. Your problem can be most likely allergic cause as it is worse at home. Some thing in the home like dust or moulds or pollens or some unknown allergens could be the cause.
Taking over the counter anti histamines like cetirizine (Zyrtec) or Benadryl will be helpful for this. If cetirizine then you can take once at bed time. Finding out the allergen and to avoid contact with that is the definite treatment. Vacuum your home properly.
If there is no improvement then consult your physician to rule out other problems and to do skin allergy tests.
Are you taking any anti-hypertensive drugs like ACE inhibitors group drugs which also can give cough.

Let me know if anything not clear.
I am happy to help you.
Thanks.
