Brief Answer:
I recommend performing some tests to establish the diagnosis.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Thank you for asking on HCM!

I understand your concern and would explain that your symptoms seem to be related to a metabolic disorder (calcium metabolism disorder, thyroid hormone imbalance, etc).

This symptomatology could be also caused as an adverse effect of the drugs on your therapy (possibly eltroxin, actonel dr or atorvastatin).

I would exclude any cardiac disorders based on your symptomatology.

Have you checked your blood pressure during these episodes?
These episodes occur only during sleep, or even during the day?

I recommend consulting with your GP for a careful physical examination, a resting ECG, a chest x ray and some blood lab tests :

- complete blood count
- PCR, sedimentation rate (inflammation)
- fasting glucose
- blood electrolytes, including calcium plasma levels
- thyroid hormone levels
- cortisol plasma levels (adrenal gland function)
- kidney and liver function tests
- blood gas analysis
- muscular enzymes : CPK .

You should consult with your doctor on the above mentioned possibilities.

Hope to have been helpful!

Feel free to ask any other questions, whenever you need!

Greetings!

Dr. Iliri

I take Aleve twice daily for arthritis. Should I stop this?

I have never had chills/tremors during the day. I didn't take my BP because of

chills and the tremors make it difficult to hold on to anything. I have called my gp

for an app't. Thanks for your help.

Brief Answer:
Aleve could raise your blood pressure and cause gastritis.

Detailed Answer:
Hello again!

Your symptoms don't seem to be related to aleve intake, though I would not recommend it for a long term therapy, because of its adverse effects on your stomach and the possible increase of your blood pressure.

You should discuss with your doctor on the above issues and tests.

Hope to have been helpful!

Best regards,

Dr. Iliri
