
What Causes Recurrent Fungal Infection On My Neck?

Question: I have some fungal infection in my neck, whcih goes away if i take medicines. But comes back again after few months. I have taken AS 400 mg tab dose of 4 Tabs.
Done my random blood sugar test. It is ok.
Please let me know, if you have any suggestions.

I hope diagnosis of fungal infection is made by a dermatologist.
Fungal infection on neck can be due to two reasons
1.dermatophytic infection which is known as ringworm.
2.malezia furfur infection.
As treatment of both these conditions is somewhat different,I will request you to upload an image of your skin condition.This will help me to guide you in a much better way.There is a facility available in this forum for uploading pic.

Thanks for sending photograph.
It seems to be a dermatophytic infection.Other possibilty is pitryasis rosecea.It is a mild form of skin allergy.
I will advise you to apply a steroid antifungal combination like canestein s for 7 to 10 days.This will reduce blackish pigmentation and infection.
If lesion still relapse after this then you need to take oral antifungals like terbinafine 250 mg for 14 days.
