                                    Brief Answer:
Signs of a fungal infection candida
Detailed Answer:
Hi again
Maceration of skin in the groin with moist reddish areas oozing out fluid and whitish discharge along with bad odour from the area could all be suggestive of a fungal infection in the skin folds called candida . Now topical steroid creams like cortizone tends to suppress the infection temporarily, thereby giving an appearance of healing the infection .
But in reality ,the infection is just hidden from view and it tends to come up again in a more severe form once the cortisone cream is stopped .
So you should completely avoid application of cortisone.
Start applying an antifungal cream like Canestan cream over the affected areas twice daily. Use it regularly for atleast two weeks .
Do not apply any other cream or oil over the affected area.
Wear cotton undergarments so as to decrease sweating and prevent further infection.
Use clotrimazole dusting powder over the groin folds two to three times daily so as to decrease moisture and infection .
Hope it helps
