What Causes Recurring Boil Near The Buttock?
Question: I am having a recurring boil on and near my buttock. In 3 months its 4th time. Which include medication for 2 weeks by dermatologist also, but after 2 weeks more, it came again.
I was having T.HH Clav, retarel ointment, betadiene shampoo, T.lyser-D medicines.
What is the reason and what is the long term cure.

To recapitulate: Male/28 - recurring boil on or near buttock - 4 times in 3 months - took 2 weeks of medication by a Dermatologist -
Simple Principle of a recurring boil treatment is excision as there is something withing the boil still doing active secretion that it is recurring.
Another possibility is that it may be a fistula in ano, and needs a proper evaluation by a Surgeon to confirm or rule this out.
Please give additional information:
Please post actual and clear photographs.
Is it near the anus or so?
Can you move it freely with skin or is tethered on movement?
Any other information you would like to share.
Any problem with stools or urine?

There are 2 small boils. 1 at sacral position and 1 at buttock.
sacral position boil gives more pain since its more stiff and attached to skin.
There is little bit pain sometime in anus also.
I dont prefer excision method told by you, as position of excision how can you guarantee. Next time it can come from any other position, eg. right now from 2 positions.
If there is any test to find proper region the please tell.

You are already using Betadine shampoo locally to sterilize the skin.
Please continue taking HH Clav antibiotic as advised by your Doctor on examining the lesions.
Anti-inflammatory medicines with painkiller properties can help swelling as well as pain, Lyser-D is good at that.
Better to get blood tests like FBS, PPBS and HbA1C to rule out diabetes .
If the hemoglobin is less, need to take corrective measures .
You may request your Doctor to give additional antibiotic like Doxycyclin if this suits you as it an be given for a long term basis to counter the infection. Continue applying Liquid povidone iodine locally.
Take multivitamins as it helps rejuvenate skin strength.
Change the underwear to new one as old may be responsible repeated infection.
Watch for the places you sit on, change the covers wherever possible or at least vacuum-clean the areas regularly.
A second opinion of a Dermatologist to rule out any specific dermatitis or scabies also help a lot to get a proper diagnosis and any additional treatment as required.
This may help you to get a long term cure.
