What Causes Recurring Dark Spots On Hands?

default
Posted on Tue, 10 Mar 2015
Question: I got some dark spots on my hands. I went to the doctor and the doctor gave me Nystatin Ointment USP (100,000 USP Nystatin Units) and Triamcinolone Acetonide Cream USP 0.1% I apply one of the cream, then 11 minutes later the other. In any order. I got rid of the black spot, but sometimes the black spot appears again. Is there anyway you can help me with this problems. Thank you.

Brief Answer:
look like eczema by appearance.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
It looks like eczema by its appearance rather than fungal infection but I want to know whether there is any itching or irritation?
Is there any history of injury/ wound or insect bite?
Triamcinolone acetonide is good but not the first choice drug for eczema as of your doctor has given it by suspecting eczema with fungus ( as he gave with nystatin ointment).
Now,if your dark spots went away then reappeared again then it could be XXXXXXX to your sudden cessation of steroid application.
You have to apply steroid twice a day for first 3 days then once a day for the next 3 days and then every alternative day for another 6 days. This is how you have to withdraw steroids.
Do not hesitate to ask follow up question.
