Question: Had about six bad dizzy spells in about 20 years could it be migraine?Suffered quite badly up until about 25 years ago with pain@being sick. Now i get the occasional visual migraine which lasts about 20mins but not dizzy @no headache. But i always seem to be muzzy headed a lot of the time and do get odd dizzy spells but not like the first ones ive mentioned. And whatever type of dizziness i get it always leave me with a niggly headache across my forhead. The last bad dizzy do i had was over 3 years ago @i realised it was after looking at wallpaper patterns.the one before that i had been painting some coving and it did require a lot of concentration. And just wnder if it might be connected with migraine. When ive had the bad ones i havnt dared move for about half an hour .Then after felt like a wrung out cloth.Dr doesnt seem to be able to help muchbecause its not all the time .I take propranolol for blood pressure but ive had that for a long time @isnt too much of a problem normally. Some advice would make me feel better.I am thinking of going to see a neurologist.

Brief Answer:
Possible BPPV ? Require MRI BRAIN

Detailed Answer:
Hello, Madam

I can certainly understand your concern.

As per your narrated history , the possibility of BPPV (benign positional and paroxysmal vertigo) is high.

Migraine is not often associated with dizzy spells.

An initial course with oral pills of Tab Betavert for 7 days.

Additionally, I also advise you to get an MRI brain for further assessment.

Based on the results , the requirement for a Neurologist can be assigned.

Please check with your physician if he shares my view and if can prescribe these pills to you.

Post your further questions if any.
Thank you
