Question : I am a female, age 62, and I have a flutter in the middle of my upper abdomen right below my bra that seems to last 2-4 seconds, and comes and goes at different times, could happen every 2-3 minutes, or vanish awhile then come back.and have been trying to find information on what this is or what causes it. There is no pain with it, and it just randomly started about 1-1/2 weeks ago. I am a diabetic. Any information would be great, as stated, this does not hurt, but is very annoying.
Brief Answer:
Aorta aneurysm can give such symptom.
Detailed Answer:
Hello!
Thank you for the query.
This flutter can be a sign of aorta aneurysm. You may also notice a pulse on the abdomen when lying down.
The other possible reason of flutter is gas in the large intestine. If so, the flutter should be more intense after food intake.
I suggest you to have abdominal ultrasound done at first. Colonoscopy is always advisable at your age (over 50).
Hope this helps. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.
