What Causes Recurring Pain In Neck And Dizziness?

default
Posted on Mon, 4 Apr 2016
Question: Recurrence of pain in neck, seems like lymph glands, accompanied by dizziness.

This is not the same as my recurring angina. Should I be concerned, or is this likely my body fighting an infection that hasn't otherwise manifested?

Brief Answer:
Infection is the most probable reason.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Thank you for the query.

How long do you have enlarged lymph nodes? Do you have any fever, night sweating, weight loss?

Generally, enlarged lymph nodes around the neck are a sign of some infection. It can be threat infection (does not have to be angina), ear infection, tooth infection. Usually we try to treat such issue with an antibiotic. And if after antibiotic treatment, there is no improvement, or the lymph nodes do grow rapidly, lymphoma can be suspected.

It would be good to have blood work done to make sure WBC are normal. You may also have an ultrasound done to see the lymph nodes and biopsy to rule out lymphoma.
But first, try antibiotic treatment.

Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.
