Posted on Mon, 13 Jun 2016
Question: Off and on sharp pain on right side upper groin right above crevice of right leg. I would say below appendix unless it sits on top of groin area, but wondered if this may be the start of a inguinal hernia or what it could be? Buttocks pain and thigh pain off and on recently, but this pain has been slightly more intense ... lasts for only a few seconds .. then goes away. Any help appreciated.

Brief Answer:
Muscular pain likely.

Detailed Answer:
Hello, Welcome to HCM..
Thanks for posting your query.

The pain in the area you have mentioned is likely to be a muscular pain. It is not likely to be related to inguinal hernia. A muscular pain varies with a change in the posture and usually subside with rest, hot compress and a mild pain killer.

The intermittent pain that you have can be related to an intestinal colic also. It is best to get an clinical examination done by your physician for proper diagnosis.

I hope this answers your query.
