What Causes Recurring Stabbing Pain In Lower Abdomen?
This morning around 2 am at work I got a stabbing pain off and on in my lower stomach. Start in the centre of my vagina and goes to top of my pubic hair line. Lasts about 2minutes, then fine for 20 or so minutes. Over the last two weeks I had pain just in the middle of vagina. If I pressed on the spot it stopped. I have been getting more yeast infections since I turned 46. My period is 2 weeks away. No other symptoms at all. Sitting pushes on the area causing pain. Standing no pain. Walking around causes it to hurt. I had diarreia last week and vomited. Then was fine.
I turned 46 this past December.
I took a gas-x with no relief at 2:30 this morning.
Is this the start of menopause? Should I go to a doctor or obgyn? Or go to emergency? What if it is just gas?

Not due to menopause.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
The stabbing pain in the lower abdomen that you have can be a muscular pain, pain due to vaginal infections or urinary infections, or an intestinal colic.
Doing a hot fomentation can help in easing off the pain. Taking Gas-X is not likely to help. This is not likely to be due to any menopausal symptoms. You can take an over the counter antispasmodic and do a hot compress. In case the pain is persistent or is associated with urinary symptoms or vaginal discharge then do consult your gynecologist for a physical examination.
Please feel free to discuss further. I will be glad to answer the follow up queries that you have.
Wishing you good health.
