
What Causes Red, Hot Swelling After Knee Meniscectomy?

Question: I have red hot spot on the upper lateral side of my knee following knee menisecectomy? It is red, swollen and hot to the touch. What is going on?

Surgery was on October 3, 2014. Yes, that is what we thought. We have been monitoring the hot spot. Has not grown much but became tender today...Today we visited the Physician's Assistant and received a DX of cellulitis and was prescribed an antibiotic called CEPHALEXIN. Thank you for your reply.
