What Causes Red Patches On Penis Foreskin?

default
Posted on Mon, 29 Sep 2014
Question: Hi Doctor,

I've recently developed two red patches on the inside of my foreskin (right next to each other), and more recently another smaller red dot has appeared on the outside of my foresking. The larger two on the inside seem a bit swollen. I haven't had sex for a year, but recently received manual stimulation, and these symptoms appeared around 2-3 days afterwards.

I was just wondering if you know what this could be.

Thanks
doctor

Hi
Thank you for query. I am Dr Bharatesh D Basti answering your query.
If you did not have any intercourse past 1 year you need not worry.
It may be due to friction or Injury or unhygienic conditions.I think pain is the symptom.
Please clean the area with warm water twice daily.
Apply topical mupirocin cream twice daily.
You can take oral antibiotic like azithromycin 500mg bd if does not subside.
Do not cause any friction or irritations.
You can get back for any clarification.
Thank you

Hi Dr Basti,

Thanks for your quick response. So just to follow up - the smaller dot has only just come up (maybe 10 days after the larger ones) - is that possible for an injury? I only ask because it looks like it's in a position which would come into contact with the larger one when my foreskin isn't retracted. I had wondered if it could be herpes transferred by skin-to-skin contact?

Thanks

Only redness and itching. The big red part just looks slightly inflamed to me but the smaller dot is noticeably raised. I haven't felt ill so far, and no discharge. Mainly worried because it seems to have spread (/ raised so I thought it could be herpes / a wart). I'm not taking any medication and am healthy.

Thanks

Brief Answer:
unlikely herpes or warts.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thank you for follow up query.
Even I too felt it as inflamed lesions at first and with the history i still feel it as an inflamed wound due to friction or infection or injury.
You please try with earlier topical suggestions.
You can take oral anti inflammatory analgesic tablets like brufen also.
If too much itching cetrizine can be taken.
It does not appear like wart or herpes.
You can get back to me for any clarification else please close the discussion and rate.
Thank you.
