Brief Answer: Erythroplakia Detailed Answer: Hello Thanks for the query and photograph. It is looking like erythroplakia, a condition characterized by development of reddish plaque in oral cavity. Although it is a benign condition but rarely can become malignant. You can apply a mild steroid oral paste. This will give some symptomatic relief. Better get a biopsy done to rule out malignancy. Let me know if you have any other doubts. Thank you

Dear Dr XXXXXXX Thank you very much for your reply, I will make an appointment with my GP as soon as possible as obviously this is of some concern to me. In the mean time, is there a particular steroid cream I should ask for by name at a chemist or would this only be available on prescription? Thanks XXXX
