What Causes Red Rashes On The Body While Suffering From Food Poisoning?

default
Posted on Wed, 30 Nov 2016
Question: I believe that I have gotten food poisoning 2 days ago. 6 hours after I ate a spinach empanada, I had bad vomiting and diahrea for several hours with dehydradation. I have been hydrating, first drinking only electrolyte water and fruit juice. Now Bananas, rice and applesauce. Feeling much better - except that this am as I got out of the shower, I suddenly had a red rash all over my body as though I burned myself. But I hadn't. Now tonight 8 hours later it's still there. What is it and should I see a doctor? The only thing different that I had done before the shower is have the first cup of coffee since before I got sick. I did take an Alieve last night for restless legs.

Brief Answer:
Some virus infections may cause rash

Detailed Answer:
Dear Patient,

some viruses or bacterias that cause food poisoning may cause a temporary rash. This will mostly cure itself within a few days and is mostly no reason to worry. If this perists more than 3 days you may show it to your local gp.

Best regards

To moderator: sorry, no precautions, will self cure most likely...
