Question: Hello,
My 2 year old daughter woke up from her nap with red splotches with bumps in them all over her. There are about 10 spots. She hasn't eaten anything different or gotten into anything that I know of some I'm not sure were it came from. Could this be an allergic reaction?

Brief Answer:
Allergic reaction to insect bite

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Can understand your concerns.

Rash at nappy region which has occurred suddenly points to a allergic reaction to insect bite.
It might be possible that some very small insect might have bitten the nappy area which has resulted in rash. If it is due to other causes then rash would have occurred all over body.
One lesser possibility is reaction to diaper, but it is less likely because you might be using same diaper company.
In I was your treating doctor, I would have given Syrup atarax ( hydroxyzine) 4 ml three times a day for 3 days and mupirocin cream for local application for 3 days.
Wash all her clothes and bedding.
Review after 2 days.
Take care.
