What Causes Reddening Of Burnt Skin Years After Healing?
Question: My wife had a third degree burn twelve years ago on her arm near her wrist that healed well. However recently she occasionally gets a slight reddening of the area of the burn with a burning sensation.
Some creams make it feel better. But it seems unusual after so many years.
What could cause this?
Thank you.

Brief Answer:
There is eczematous lesion seen.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for the photograph.
There is eczematous lesion seen.
Just a little redness is there.
Sometime previously damaged skin become sensitive.
There is nothing to worry.
I usually prescribe a mild steroid cream like mometasone in night and aloevera cream in day.
Tablet methylcobalamine also helps a lot.
I have seen good response with this.
You can try it.
Let me know if you have any other doubts.
Thank you.
