What Causes Reddish Discoloration And Swelling On The Toes And Ankles?

default
Posted on Fri, 2 Dec 2016
Question: My swollen toes, feet and ankles are reddish colored and when I lay down, feel very cold. Must I lay down to sleep?. The skin feels so tight with a burning, pinching sensation. Going to sleep is difficult and frustrating. Applied lotion but not much help. When I finally do fall asleep, I usually wake up with an extremely hot feeling in my feet and lower legs. Sleep at the most is 2 to 4 hours. Have to get out of hot bed and blankets. Whereupon I retire to the comfort of my chair where I fall asleep with no pain or cold or hot feeling. I do take 2 ibuprofen every 4 to 6 hours for arthritis and tendinitis. I do have veinous insufficiency as my mother and sister have. My email address is YYYY@YYYY Thank you.
