What Causes Reddish Spots On The Arm?
Question: My wife and I vacationed in Mexico for 7 days. 3-4 days into our vacation I noticed a quarter sized red spot and some eraser sized spots also in same area of my arm. They don't itch or hurt, and have remained the same for the last 10 days. When we got back to the US, someone suggested it may be ringworm and to buy some over the counter anti fungal cream. I did this, bought athletes foot cream and have been applying day and night for 9 days. No change so far. If you have ideas on diagnosis or treatment would be appreciated. Thanks

Brief Answer:
Contact dermatitis
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for the photograph.
It's looking like a contact dermatitis.
I treat such cases with topical application of a mild steroid cream like cortisone twice daily for a week.
It is safe and effective and usually available over the counter.
You can try this.
Let me know if you have any other doubts.
Thank you.
