Question: I think I have a vaginal yeast infection. Ive taken an oral medication 2x days ago and used a cream for irritation. Though, my bottom crack was really really sore and red and the next day the skin was looking like it was dry and peeling, lastly there was tiny tiny tears in the perineal. Help!

Brief Answer:
reducing heat, moisture and friction would also help

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Vaginal yeast infections would normally present with white yellow vaginal discharge, vaginal itching and redness. Burning on urination can also occur as a result of the itching.

Fungal infections can also occur in the folds of the groin, the folds in the buttocks. It can also affect other folds of the body such as under the breasts, in the axilla.

Heat, moisture and friction increase the chance of inflammation in these folds and increase the risk of fungal infection.
The use of the antifungal cream in the affected area is important and it can take 2 to 3 weeks for any fungal infection to completely improve because fungi are slow responding.

In addition to the cream, you need to decrease heat, moisture and friction.

This can be done by wearing cool , non tight clothing, using barrier creams or powders.
Barrier creams or powders would include zinc based creams, desitin etc These would reduce friction

Using wipes with bowel movements instead of dry paper that may be abrasive may also be helpful.

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
