Question : I have swollen feet/ankles, wrists/fingers for about a month. Redness in some spots and small "lumps" about pea size showing up- on toes, sides of feet, both middle finger first and second knuckles and also on bottom of forearms.

Dear Madam,

Thank you for posting your query on HCM.

Well looking into your problem , I will like to tell you that this can be a symptom of arthritis specially Rheumatoid arthritis . I would advise you to get your ESR , CRP , RF , Anti CCP levels, ANA done as these are arthritis markers . Those lumps that you are talking about can be rheumatoid nodules . Your treatment is fine , and you will benefit by that but we need to start you on other drugs like methotrexate once the diagnosis is finalised .
