Question: hello doc, my mother is 67 yrs old and had a mild paralytic attack on right side on 26th january 2015. Her doctor prescribed Echosprin 150, Atorec 40 and Cyra 20 to be continued for 2 months along with phisiotherapy. Her BP was 170/100 on that day. After about 20 days of taking medicine along with 10 classed of phisiotherapy, she showed improvements on right leg and right arm movements. Recently a week back she developed severe cough with tiredness and sometimes problem in breathing. so i consulted with the cardiologist day before yesterday and he prescribed Atorec 20, Clavix 75, Cilny 10, Arbitel 20. after changing to the new medicines her left eye become red today and cough continued. So againconsulting the cardiologist, he temprarily dropped Clavix 75 and added Clavox 625 and Asthakind syrup and prescribed for a Echo and xray of chest to be done tomorrow. Now should i continue with the cardiologist or i should visit a neurologist. please advise

Brief Answer:
You need to consult cardiologist.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Welcome to Health care magic

I am Dr. DADAPEER K, an Ophthalmologist and I answer health problems related to eye.

I reviewed your history.
It seems from the history that your mother is having redness of the eye following treatment for paralytic attack.
The redness of the eye is most probably because of subconjunctival hemorrhage. This can occur either because of Ecosprin because of its anticoagulant properties or because of cough.
This will resolve slowly as the blood gets absorbed and no need to be worried about this condition and no treatment is required for this.

Currently your mother is on treatment for cough and difficulty in breathing. You need to consult your cardiologist after getting the investigations like chest X-ray and Echo as advised by him.

Hope I have answered your question and the information is helpful to you.
Do write back to me for further questions.

Thank you
