Brief Answer: Normal healing process. Detailed Answer: Hi, Thank you for using Healthcare Magic. A week after the injury, the area may still be a little reddened, therefore, I would not worry about this. Signs to look out for would be increasing pain and swelling in the area, discharging of pus or the development of a fever. These would indicate an infection and you should go to the ED. Otherwise, keep the area clean and dry and it should continue to heal with no problems. I hope this is of help. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
