Question : My daughter, 12, does tae kwn do, and when they have more endurance training her chest area gets red and sometimes she complains of hard breathing.
She has yearly check up coming up, should i mention this to her doctor and should something be done about it?
Thanks!

                                    Brief Answer:
Definitely share the details with your doctor.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for posting on HealthCareMagic.
It is good to know that your daughter is training in Taekwondo. What is not clear from your description is whether the redness over her chest is due to getting hit during an endurance test, or is it due to some other factor. The hard breathing could be due to exertion. In any case, you should definitely share all the relevant details including these, with your doctor during the check up. If you could elaborate a bit further about when and how the redness occurs and also about the hard breathing, I will try to guide you further.

The redness usually happens when they do endurance training, like for example, doing 100's of different kicks, running, ect.
I remember when she had black belt testing she was required to run 3 miles in less than 30 minutes, and her chest was all red do to a running.

                                    Brief Answer:
Redness is due to increased circulation
Detailed Answer:
I have gone through the details. The redness you are talking about is due to increased circulation to compensate for the increased oxygen consumption by the body. It is normal and nothing to worry about. The hard breathing occurs due to the same reason when the oxygen demands are not met. You may relax. You can mention all these to your doctor but I do not think that he too will find any issues with it.
