Brief Answer:
Can cause

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query, albeit short and specific.
To recapitulate: Female/83 - on Methotrexate once a week - redness look in both lower legs - wants to know whether by RA or Methotrexate...

Methotrexate is known to cause reddening of the skin.
RA itself does not cause skin rash - it causes nodule and vasculitis but the skin rash can be enhanced if some medicines are also taken one of these are Metrotrexate, although this occurs rarely. Other medicines which are like Ibuprofen taken for pain.

Please post clear and focused photographs as these help sometimes for on-the-spot diagnosis.
