What Causes Redness On The Penile Head?

default
Posted on Tue, 14 Mar 2017
Question: Redness on penile head. Had an STI test not long ago and came up negative. The redness started coming back about a week after test. Its red around the hole and down the back. Doesnt hurt when i urinate.
The redness isnt too bad in the photos but if you could have a look that would be great.
Ive been using dermaid but that doesnt seem to help.
Only gives a sting sometimes when i am at work walking around and it seems to rub on my under. Btw i work in a coolroom so i dunno if the cold air has anything to do with it

Brief Answer:
Candidal balanoposthitis most probably

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I read history and saw the photos. It seems that most probably you may be having candidal balanoposthitis in mild form.

Do not worry,it may clear with few days treatment. Kindly avoid sex without condom.

You may follow...

- antifungal like itroconazole cap 200 mg daily for two weeks
- antifungal cream like sertaconazole cream to apply twice a day
- wash the area with diluted dettol

Kindly take treatment after consulting nearby dermatologist.

Hope this help you.

Thanks.

Is there anything else it could possibly be?

Brief Answer:
Else may be normal redness due to friction

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I feel it may be candidal balanoposthitis. If it is not, then there is no possibility of any disease except normal redness due to friction.

Hope this would satisfy you.

Thanks.
