Question : I am 33 and I don't have children. I got the XXXXXXX Coil fitted about three months ago. I used to have very regular periods, and now I am spotting on most days. It's mainly light, sometimes a little heavier like a normal period. What is worrying me is the severe cramps that I've been getting randomly. It can happen any time and last for a few hours. Sometimes it wakes me up at night, and sometimes it is a sharp/ intense pain in my left side. Once or twice it has been so bad that I have felt nauseous. I've suffered from painful period pain before, but nothing like this. Is it normal or is there a risk I am pregnant? (Myself and my partner stil use condoms, but not always.) thanks!

                                    Brief Answer:
No chance of pregnancy
Detailed Answer:
Hello
I understand your concerns about possibility of pregnancy.
Let me reassure you that there are no Chances of pregnancy.
Intermittent bleeding is due to progesterone hormone present in mirena coil. Cramping is also due to mirena coil. Uterus tries to expel XXXXXXX and hence cramps.
This is normal. Don't worry about pregnancy.
Let me know if you need any more clarifications.
