Question : IMy husband feels like he has a thumb pressing against his throat and pain at bottom of rib cage in stomich.

These symptoms suggest more of gastritis and/or reflux. Omeprazole is a good remedy for this.

But if the symptoms are persistent, Then I would recommend an upper GI endoscopy to rule out more serious problems. That should give the definite diagnosis.

Overall, I don't think there is any cause for worry right now.
