when i started the tabs within 15 days I observed that,
1.My physical movements slowed down day by day.
2. body rigidity increasing
3.lot of saliva in mouth
4.problem with balancing during walk particularly when I get up from bed/sofa/chair and start moving in house.
5.Particularly when I have to walk on downwards slop I have to increase speed just to maintain my balance.

Is it because of syndopa ?
SHOULD I STOP TAKING SYNDOPA -PLUS (110) TABLETS IMMEDIATELY ? ANY SUBSTITUTE YOU SUGGEST?

Brief Answer:
Dosage increase maybe necessary with increase carbidopa.

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX
Thanks for asking.
I am Dr. Prakash HM and I will be answering your query.

Based on your query, my opinion is as follows:

1. Parkinson disease is characterized by reduced movements, tremors more in rest, muscle rigidity and postural instability. Mask like face is commonly described. If you had any of these symptoms, not essentially tremors, you will require therapy.

2. You are having levodopa reactions. Carbidopa dose required would be more to avoid peripheral action of levodopa like hypotension (balance loss during getting up - also called as orthostatic hypotension or postural hypotension).

The other symptoms like increased salivation and body rigidity and reduced physical movements are due to parkinsonism and syndopa treatment should help in controlling it.

3. If the symptoms were not severe, dopamine agonists like pramipexole or ropinrole can be tried. Syndopa will be necessary in future.

If you did not have any symptoms of parkinson previously or less, then dopamine agonists maybe tried. If you had, then better control of dose is necessary. Do discuss with your doctor regarding medication prescription.

For orthostatic hypotension, avoid sudden shift in change of positions. Allow the body to adjust to new position and when there is no dizziness, then you can start moving. You can use walking stick for speed control. Avoid slopes, until you adjust to medications. Take good amount of water.

Only posture change, balance loss is because of syndopa. Others are not.
Carbidopa increase, could reduce balance loss symptoms.

Hope it helps.
