Question : At different points in time I start to get a ringing in my right ear, slight loss of hearing, than get a little dizzy, start to have a loss of balance - this may last for a few minutes or for a couple of hours and go away. One time it progressed to general nausea, vomiting, a loss of strength and general weakness. After a few hours of sleep it all went away and back to normal. This has now happened, on a limited severity basis 5 or 6 times. Only once when it progressed to nausea and vomiting etc.

Brief Answer:
may be menieres disease

Detailed Answer:
Hi, thanks for using healthcare magic

It is possible that you may have meniere's disease. This is a condition that is associated with intermittent episodes of dizziness/vertigo- sensation of spinning/loss of balance, hearing loss, ringing in the ear, nausea/vomiting .

This is a condition related to the inner ear which plays a part in balance. This is one possible cause you can consider.

It is diagnosed by history and physical examination. Tests such as a hearing test, and other tests to check balance, may be needed.

Meniere's is treated with: low salt diet,
(2)avoiding caffeine, smoking , reducing alcohol use, stress, regular sleep
(3)in some persons, the use of a diuretic (medication to help get rid of excess fluids and salts) may help
(4)medications for the dizziness/vertigo
(5)surgery may be needed for some persons

Your GP or better yet, an ENT specialist, would be able to assess you.

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
