Brief Answer:
Urinalysis

Detailed Answer:
Hi there,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I am Dr.Barani and I am pleased to assist you.

Mucinex contains Guaifenesin.
Guaifenesin does not cause rusty urine.

So it could have been due to a different reason in your case. I would advise you to get an urinalysis done to rule out infection or hematuria.

I hope that answers your question.
Let me know if you have any more questions.
Regards,
Dr.Barani
