Brief Answer:
limb elevation above heart level

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for your query.
I am Dr Prakash HM and I will be answering your query.
Based on your query, my opinion is as follows.
1. Limb swelling is dependent edema due to reduced activity. Antihypertensive medication like calcium channel blockers can cause edema, but you are not on that medicine, so in your case its not medicines causing edema.
2. After years of hypertension limb edema can be seen due to reduced clearance/ venous congestion. Limb elevation above the heart level during lying position by placing pillows under the limbs will reduce edema.
3.Avoid standing/ sitting for longer duration until edema reduces.
4. For salty taste in the mouth, check if there are any ulcers or bleeding gums. If not present avoid brushing hard/ chewing harder things. Use a mouth wash and tongue cleaner to improve oral hygiene. If it persists take a dental opinion for ulceration of oral mucosa/ gums.
5. Get a complete hemogram done to rule out any anemia.
6. If edema persists additional diuretics might be necessary. Edema should be reduced at the earliest to prevent ulceration of the limb due to venous stasis and resulting delayed wound healing.
Hope this helps.
Any more queries, glad to help you again.

Brief Answer:
Acid reflux causes bitter taste.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for asking again.

Hiatal hernia with acid reflux is commonly known to cause bitter taste or sour taste in mouth.

Other causes that can be thought for salty taste include dehydration or rarely vit B12 deficiency.

Have good hydration, get a close look into to your oral cavity.
Vit B12 supplements or diet rich in green leafy vegetables will be helpful.

Hope it helps.
Any further queries, happy to help again.
